Equipment
Camera Specs:
We use two types of 35mm cameras. One is our own design
which is made from an Arri IIc and is roll capable. The other
type is a modified Arri Iic which has horizon control and
holds a standard 200 ft mag. Both cameras can run with speeds
of 2 to 48 fps, and have been grid tested. Lens selection
is 18, 20 and 24.
Helicopter:
The helicopter is approx. 6 feet long and has a rotor span
of 8 feet. The helicopter derives its power from a 72 cc two
stroke and is capable of reaching speeds up to 70 mph. Our
pilots are able to fly in an area of approximately 600 feet.
The other option is to use a chase vehicle which the pilot
will sit in, should this be required. These machines can fly
almost anywhere, including indoors. The three axis camera
platform is controlled separately by an operator who has a
microwave RF link to the ground monitor, allowing the director
and client to have an immediate image of the take.
Equipment Transport:
The approximate weight of the whole system is 700 pounds.
We have two cases which contain the camera ships, plus several
other cases. This can travel with our team on most commercial
airliners.
